The Lab Light design came about from a genuine fascination with medical and laboratory equipment. And with all those fantastic clamps and levers - the perfect place to start designing a multi functional luminaire.

The Lab Light's success brought on the desire to make a "youthful" version - that could be more successfully (and easily) customised.

The starting point was to look at scientific equipment using steel only - allowing for the entire fitting to be powdercoated in an array of playful colours.

Okha held a fantastic Exhibition at the end of 2010 to celebrate design... in black. Anatomy Design was invited to manufacture the most desirable object, in black.

With a little experimentation with oxidation, The brass Lab Light was blackened to gunmetal finish.
